Can I receive information about my treatment options?

From initial inquires, questions and concerns about medical treatments, American Hospital staff members are here to assist patients during all phases of their care. In order to expedite the process and to direct your request to the relevant department for action, please send all necessary documentation (medical reports, X-rays/CT Scans/MRIs, pathology slides/reports, discharge summary etc.) and current condition or complaint.

Is the medical information I am sending secure?

American Hospital considers the information you provide us as confidential and it will not be shared with any third parties.


Can I get information about financial and billing arrangements, including detailed estimates?

While some cases require physician consultation to determine cost and treatment plan, detailed estimates and billing information is provided to patients prior to treatment.

How do I know if my insurance covers my treatment at the American Hospital?

Do I need a private insurance coverage to receive treatment at the American Hospital?

Insurance is not needed to be treated at the American Hospital, we accept self-payers. If you prefer to get insurance, please be aware that many private insurance companies have special packages for different hospitals. American Hospital is the leading hospital in Turkey; hence some insurance companies have various offers regarding treatments received at our hospital. If you have health insurance coverage with an insurer that has an agreement with the American Hospital, physician consultation and referral will be needed for claim approval/Guarantee of Payment. Physician referral will not be needed if you do not wish to use an insurance coverage.


Am I being directed to the appropriate physician?

All of our physicians are unique and valuable within their own field. Physicians are selected for each case by the Chief Medical Officer of the American Hospital.


Do I need an appointment to visit the Clinical Laboratories?

Appointment will not be needed, you may walk into our Clinical Laboratories to proceed with the necessary laboratory tests. Please be informed, most laboratory tests require fasting and should be performed in the morning after an overnight fast of at least 8 hours. Our Clinical Laboratories hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am-5:00 pm. We are also open Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 am-3:00 pm.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Please ensure to bring ID or Passport, insurance card/agreement number (if applicable) and all previous medical records with you to your appointment.


Does the American Hospital recommend hotels and arrange accommodation?

American Hospital has agreements with hotels nearby and provides reasonable rates for its patients.


Does the American Hospital provide translation assistance?

Translator services are available, free of charge at the American Hospital. If translator assistances is required you may inform our Call Centre or International Patients Program Department to proceed with necessary arrangements.


Does my physician know and understand English Language?
